Meet the people behind the Rights for Nature ECI at the HEAR Rivers Festival in Strasbourg and join us online for an evening of conversation about ecosystems, democracy, and what it means to give nature a legal voice in Europe.
Description
Something is starting. Spring is coming to Europe. Rivers are rising, in more ways than one.
Citizens, lawyers, activists, and organisations from across the continent are working together to give ecosystems legal rights using one of the most powerful democratic tools the EU has to offer: a European Citizens’ Initiative that, with one million signatures, obliges the Commission to act.
On 25 March, at the HEAR Rivers Festival in Strasbourg, you can meet the people behind it.
This is an open conversation. Come and hear why we believe Rights of Nature is an idea whose time has come in Europe. Ask us your questions. Meet the partners from more than 10 countries who are already building this movement in their communities. And find out what you can do to be part of it.
The ECI will formally be registered with the European Commission just before the event – the first step on the road to one million signatures.
You will hear from:
- Dobra Grzybkowska-Lewicka (Poland)
- Emmanuel Schlichter (Germany)
- Eduardo Salazar (Spain)
- Emilien Capdepon (France)
- Thomas Wallentin (Austria)
- Ida Edling (Sweden)
Can’t make it to Strasbourg? Join us online. The conversation is open to everyone.
